My baby boy has been eating rice cereal with juice for a while now. And he's never had a problem. In fact, I hoped it would help him go to the bathroom easier, he's always had big hard turds instead of the looser stools. I breastfed for about 4 weeks and then had to formula feed. But even with the juice it was only sort of helping. But after he had 2 boxes of rice cereal gone we decided to try some baby oatmeal for him with some juice and he LOVES it! It's his favorite even more than the rice which he liked a lot. And now, his poop is yellow and runny and he's going anywhere from 2-9 times a day. He is getting 3 teeth and already has 2 teeth in and with the first 2 he just spit up (he was never a spit up baby until he started teething). He never got a fever or anything. But this time around he's fussy and I have to give him Tylenol at night to help him sleep. But I don't know why he has diarrhea. I've stopped giving him juice and began mixing his oatmeal with warm formula which he doesn't like as much and filling his sippy cup with water which he enjoys chomping on and spitting the water out (silly little man). If his diarrhea doesn't stop after his oatmeal is gone (he's only got like one more serving left, at most 2) then I'm going to take him to the doctor, don't worry I'm not neglecting him or anything. But the other thing that is confusing, is that he doesn't fuss about a tummy ache or anything. He hasn't had any Tylenol for his teeth in over 2 weeks and the same with juice. So I think it's the oatmeal but I'm not 100%...We're going to get some pedialite for him to see if that helps as well. Do you think it's just the oatmeal?

My bad luck in health right now?

A little while ago I asked a question about if VBACs were more successful if pregnancies are spaced quite far apart. UKNurse answered that it depends on what the cause for the first c-section was, that if it was a case of a pelvis being too small then there's nothing that can be done about that and it will be another c-section. What if that was the case (that the original c section was because of a too small pelvis) but on the second time around the mother went into labor prematurely and wound up having, say, a six pound baby instead of a nine pound baby. Would she most likely be able to deliver naturally under those circumstances, if the baby was much smaller? Would the doctors at least give her a chance since the baby is smaller, or would they wheel her right into surgery?

I need some insight on my symptoms?

I will start off by saying I have a doctor appointment booked, it's just not for a few weeks so I thought I would come on here to get any info I could while I wait to see the doctor. First thing I am concerned about is every so often, maybe 1-2 times a month my left arm will randomly feel immense pressure inside as if someone were taking my blood pressure, the veins pop out and it goes a little red. This usually only lasts around 30 seconds and then goes away, it is completely random, sometimes it happens when I am fully exerting myself, other times I am completely relaxed. I have also been experiencing frequent fevers lately, no other symptoms other than a fever, usually around 101-102 F, accompanied by body aches the entire duration of the fever. I have had 3 in the lAst month and a half, usually last anywhere from 1-3 days. This has me concerned that there may be something wrong. I am 21 in good general condition, mother of a 3 year old, and unfortunately I do smoke (trying my hardest to quit that nasty habit) if that will help. Bug bite thats caused baseball sized reddish looking rash with purple bruising?

Hello we're in central Illinois and went camping over the weekend my friend first noticed the bite on Saturday which looked like a mosquito bite. It was normal skin color and about the size of a peanut M & M. It was itchy. On Sunday the bump was gone and in its place was a large reddish rash with bruising. It is not painful to the touch but itches sometimes and does not appear to have gotten bigger than on sunday although the bruising has gotten slightly more purplish in color there is no signs of puss or any type of fever. The reddish color literally looks likes someone punched you in the stomach several times but with 4 day old looking purple bruising. We were attacked by mosquito's and chiggers that weekend and its deer tick territory out there...we also have brown recluses in that area i've never seen a bite like that. What do you think it was? Help! Sick with a cough and fever?

I'm an 18 year old female. I have been sick for the past 3 days. First day it was just not feeling good, a hoarse voice, and a sore throat. By yesterday I had a bad cough and a fever of 100.5. My temperature is usually a bit low so whenever I get sick my temp never gets above 100. So, this would be the first time in like 10 years or more I've had this high of a fever. Obstetric fistula hospital stay?

If a baby's head had been badly stuck in the birth canal and had required a c section would the hospital keep the mother for a few extra days in order to monitor her for an obstetric fistula? Or do developed countries like the US not need to do that because they have the ability to perform c sections and remove the babies fast enough that not enough time would have elapsed to allow the blood supply to have been cut off for too long?

Can anyone recommend a laundry detergent brand that works well on typical food and dirt stains? About 2 weeks ago I was sick with a cold and sinus infection (possibly). I had fever, very congested. A few days ago, I started to get a really bad headache. Pressure in bridge of nose, temples top back, and front of head. I have taken ibuprofen to little or no avail. My mucus is clear now. But I've head this "pressured" headache for 5 days now. It's intermittent. It'll come and go during the day but still there. I notice when I'm doing a steambath, my headache diminishes. Don't want have to go to Dr. unless I really need to. Diarrhea for 3 days now 31 weeks pregnant?

I've had diarrhea for 3 days now. I have no other symptoms. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and on modified bed rest for preterm labor. I have had contractions on and off but nothing too serious. I do not feel sick to my stomach and I am not running a fever. I am not lactose intolerant and do not change my cats litter box. I am 25% effaced but not dilated. The baby has been moving perfectly fine. I went to my ob office yesterday and I am in perfect health according to the midwife. I have increase mucous like discharge but my water has not broken. The baby is engaged. Am I getting ready to go into labor? Also, I was bottling my leaking colostrum since I think it'd be stupid to let it go to waste and giving to my toddler who is 21 months old (I have been just sitting with a bottle underneath my nipples to catch it I have not expressed it) but now it turned from yellow to clearish white so my actually breast milk is coming in. Is this labor? I was induced with my first so I don't know what the signs of labor are. OB office doesn't seem too concerned.

I've always had stomach problems and nausea since I was little, but I'm 14 now and so much more is going on. I have a 2 year old niece. Recently my sister (her mom) and I were talking about the little things she does. My sister has become concerned. She will flick her hands. She also covers her ears alot. My sister at first thought with the covering of the ears she might have an ear infection, but no fever, and even a quick trip to the doctor proves other wise. She has been doing this for a couple months now and I my sister started to look up these behaviors, since she has never seen this before in children. My niece talks perfectly fine for a 2 year old. Lawsuit against OBGYN?

I believe that my OBGYN may have caused mistakes with both of my pregnancies. I was Strep B + with my first child. I was a week and a half over my due date and she broke my water and I went into labor, I then had to have a C section. 2 weeks after being home from the hospital my child had a high fever and was really fussy and his body was limp..we brought him to the hospital and they couldn't get an IV in him so after an hour they had him rushed in an ambulance to a different hospital. They did a spinal tap and found out he had caught Spinal Bacterial Meningities infecting his blood, brain, and spine he had 4 frontal lobe strokes in his brain as well as a seizure from the Group Strep B they found positive in me during pregnancy. This poor child went through SO much and we almost lost him. There was a low percentage that he would survive, and he did. The doctor was sure that he was going to be deaf and spoke with us about the Cerebral Palsy along with many other things. There was a paster up in his room everyday he was there. He is now 21/2 years old but could have developmental problems. Although He recovered VERY well and is like any other 2 1/2 year old. A true MIRACLE. He has some speech problems, but we continue to work with him. He was hospitalized for over a month. Everyone tells me that could be a huge lawsuit, I believe I was supposed to recieve antibiotics during labor, but I had a C-Section... ....Getting to my second pregnancy.... I was supposed to recieve the Rhogam shot because I am O- and my husband is A+ I did recieve it with my first child his blood type is positive as well as my second child now, but while pregnant with my second child I did not recieve it. Fever after 4 month immunizations?

My 4 month old daughter got her 4 month immunizations yesterday around 10:30a.m EST. I gave her Tylenol 30 min before her appt, and then again 6 hours later. I didn't give it to her again (I want to give her as little as possible) until last night before bed as directed by the on call Dr because her fever went to 100.9* (by ear) last night. They also said to give it to her this morning, which I did. It's been about 6 hours since her last Tylenol dose and her fever is still 99.6* (in her armpit) and just about the same by ear. Is this normal? At her 2 month immunizations, her fever didn't last this long, and I don't want to give her too much Tylenol as well. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

Safe alternative to Tylenol for teething?

My daughter is 4 month old, and the past few days she has been waking in the night due to teething pain. Sometimes she is really crabby because of it as well, which I can't say I blame her, probably hurts! I have been giving her Tylenol the past 2 days because of a fever and pain from immunizations and she seems to feel much better after. I just don't want to constantly give her Tylenol due to the whole liver failure thing. I know I can do the cold rings and freezing a wash cloth- But I need some ideas for at night so that she can sleep properly and not constantly wake up fussing. If it's something safer than Tylenol that I can use during the day as well, that would be great too. I just feel so bad for her, she's always chewing on her finger, she looooves when I rub her bottom front gums w/ my finger, and sometimes she seems like she's really in some discomfort. At her 4 month well baby appointment on Monday, her Dr said she was teething as well. My brother SWEARS by the whiskey method, but I don't think I could do that. Regardless of who has done it for how long and how little you use- That just doesn't seem safe... I'd rather just give her Tylenol- At least that's MADE for her. Is a VBAC more possible if a long time has elapsed between pregnancies?

probably wrong but i think it might be an extreme case of allergies you don't know about(think if you came into contact with something you don't usually come into contact with when you get these spikes). The food you eat probably plays a role too. A lot of people think just eating veggies is healthy but you need to get some meat in there too and other types of food. Something else is if you are going to a new environment its likely the germs there got to you. A lot of kids get sick when they go back to school after summer vacation. The sudden exposure to diseases and bacteria and germs can really get you sick even if you have a healthy immune system. Could be any one of these or maybe i am wrong. Go find out.

I'm asking this because this has been going on for a while. I've been ill (cold symptoms) on and off for around eight months. My glands went up and down for a while, now they are constantly up. My doctor diagnosed me with slight anemia. At first my doctor thought it was glandular fever, then maybe (because I've had stomach probs as well) coeliac disease. Not either. She is now sending me to a haematologist about my glands. I'm really confused and worried. I have to wait until the hospital gets back to me, and that might take a while.

Why am I having so much trouble losing weight?

Protein makes you gain weight especially protein shakes. Lipton Green Tea has a ton of sugar in it 61 grams or something for a liter. If you've only been at this a week, you won't see results right away, depends on how overweight you are and how good a shape you're in. Okay so about last thursday I got bitten by to deer ticks in the nymph stage, the first one was on my left ankle and removed on thursday night. What the hell hit my car?

I live in South West Florida and I was driving down a road at night with trees on my right, all of a sudden I heard a huge BANG and saw that there was a large splatter of gooey something stuck on the right side of my car.. I did not see what hit me or anything weird before it hit for that matter. The liquid smells very foul and kind of like red tide, very ocean-like. There were pieces of what looked like egg shell maybe.. I don't think some one threw an egg at me because why would it smell so bad? It does not smell like a rotten egg I might add. How to convince my body to run on a regular basis?

I like to run, I guess, but only for the feeling I receive after the workout. Because during the actual run, i dread it SO much! I'm a pretty lazy person, so because of that, no matter how much I need the exercise, I don't do it. There are times where I have to drag my body outside, and its funny because every time after I finish, I feel amazing and promise myself that I'll make this a daily routine. But STILL, even when running makes me feel good (afterward, at least) I slack off! And it's killing me! I know I'm making this so much more complicated than it's suppose to be, but I think it has to do with my mental relationship with running. Any advice on what to do during the run to make it more enjoyable (besides an ipod)? Or any advice at all? I tell myself "tomorrow" everyday, but too many tomorrows have elapsed. Help!

Bit by something on a camping trip baseball size reddish rash with bruising Pics included Any Idea?

Hello we're in central Illinois and went camping over the weekend my friend first noticed the bite on Saturday which looked like a mosquito bite. It was normal skin color and about the size of a peanut M & M. It was itchy. On Sunday the bump was gone and in its place was a large reddish rash with bruising. It is not painful to the touch and does not appear to have gotten bigger than on sunday although the bruising has gotten slightly more purplish in color there is no signs of puss or any type of fever. We were attacked by mosquitos and chiggers that weekend and its deer tick territory out there...we also have brown recluses in that area i've nver seen a bite like that. What do you think it was? Employment Law Questions about Flexible Working/Homeworking/Work-Life Balance?

I requested working from home with my employer. They granted me 2 days a week on a 3 month Trail Period with the possibility to increase if everything was fine, or revoke if it didnt work out. Several others are also on these terms as well. The 3 months has elapsed in April and I am continuing to work 2 days from home as is everyone else whos Trial Period have also elapsed. There has been NO review of the trial for any of us... but again there has been NO indication that they are unhappy with the result as we are still doing this. Can I request this to now not be a verbal agreement and a change to my contract.. how long does a working practice have to remain in place before I can get it in my contract. If My emplyer refuses to update my contract and wants to keep it as a verbal agreement.. where do I stand? Can they make changes to it at anytime? Revoke it? Or do I have a right to say that it is my working practice and they cannot take it away? I do not have children, I do not care for anyone.... I was granted this on the basis that I my commute is 2.5 hours each way and an 8 hour day in the office meant my work-life balance was seriously affecting my wellbeing and health and also I could not work late or overtime because of the fact I had too far to travel etc.. I am concerned though without it being concrete in my contract they could take this away from me when they feel like and I will have my health affected again!

DESPERATE - Sudden onset of very painful joints and other symptoms!?

I began taking Macrobid for a bladder infection last Thursday and later Friday evening my skin began to hurt all over and I got the chills, along with fever. I was up almost all night with severe pain in my knees, feet, and eventually my hips. I have had headaches and some nausea, but no vomiting. As of today it has been a week; the fever did seem to go away yesterday after taking extra strength tylenol around the clock. My dog has a laceration and it is starting to stink.?

It was done while we were gone the other day and when we got home too much time elapsed in order for him to get it stitched. He has been on cephaxalin for two days. Tonight when I took off his bandage to change it I freaked. It stunk and was getting black in some places. I tried to call an emergency vet and the only one we had around us has closed down. I cleaned it really well with saline solution and put anibacterial dressing on it. Will he be ok until tomorrow. Does anyone know if this is normal for a deep laceration? I didn't know if it might be part of the healing process. I really don't think it is if it smells and looks the way it does....please help

My head hurts really bad and my whole body aches and my throat hurts...what can I do to feel better?

I'd say take a painkiller for the headache, get some good rest for the body aches (or maybe a nice warm bath may help a little, as well as massaging yourself where you hurt the most or having someone gently massage you...the painkiller for the headache may help these though) and gargle with salt water to help your throat feel a little better. If you're feeling hot though the warm bath might not be what you want. Be careful to monitor yourself for a fever in case you've gotten a flu of some kind. Hope you feel better and can get some rest soon! You and your body need it.

Slight headache at night, wake up breaking fever?

Last night I had the slightest nagging headache that wouldnt go away. This morning I wake up EARLY, because my headache had gotten worse and I was either hot or cold, hot or cold and sweating and it felt like I was breaking a fever. I took some excedrin, went back to bed and woke up and the headache was pretty much gone. I feel a little dizzy right now still, and I feel like the headache could return. Any thoughts?

I would stay home with anything over 99 degrees. You will be in the hot sun and it might not be very much fun for the sick kid. Also he could take a turn for the worse very quickly and you would have to just turn around and head back home anyways. Just wait until the next day and if hes better then go, if he gets sicker you know it was the right thing to stay home

My pregnancy test was a faint negative and turned to a very bright positive after the time limit elapsed?

I have taken the same type of test 2 days in a row. Yesterday, it was a faint negative. .I had to peek after the time limit. .It was still negative. Today, I took one as soon as I woke up. It was a faint negative but became a very prominent positive after the time limit had elapsed. The test is a +/- with blue dye. Both lines are clearly blue. Help! Please and thank you!

3 year old child keeps crying in sleep?

It's 3:30 in the morning and I am sitting here in tears. I am listening to my 3 year old cry every 5 mins in her sleep. She doesn't have a fever. She has autisum and doesn't talk yet so she can't tell me what's wrong. I am trying to figure out what's wrong. Lately she has been really chewing on things and putting things in her mouth. My husband says she will probably be sick cause this morning she put the scrub brush for dishes in her mouth. I am worried it's something else. Could she have cavities? She refuses to let me look into her mouth. She is strong and she fights and bites. I want to take her to the dentist but the insurance company has the family with one who doesn't accept patients younger than four. I am so worried that she does. I brush her teeth everyday. Like I said there is no fever so I am pretty sure she is not sick. She is not acting like she did a few weeks ago when she had tonsilitis and than an ear infection. I feel like the worse mother on earth cause I can't figure out what could be wrong.

Everything is fine . Just calm down . Sinus infections can really mess you up and make you feel crappy . It's very unlikely that it is caused by anything else because most STDS have no symptoms until maybe a month or so after you've become infected . Switching to a gentle cleanser for my acne. How long before I know if it's working?

While I'm waiting for my dermatologist appointment next month, I've decided to eschew all acne products and just wash my face with a gentle cleanser. I've tried several for a few days to a week, but find I still have acne popping up, sometimes in places(like my forehead) that I don't normally get pimples. Just recently, I have gotten the letter from my school about my scholarship pertaining to this year's academic performance. I go to a public school in the state of MD. I have received this scholarship since beginning of my freshman year and this would be my last year. This is the Dean Scholarship which is 3k a year for four years. They just sent a letter that my GPA has been revoked and discontinued. But I can send a letter of appeal by JULY 15TH 2011. They require form of documentation to justify that why I did not maintain it. I moved off campus this year which was different for me and I was sick during the last semester. But I did not go to the doctor for documentations. The only time I did go was when my fever went down by alot but I was still feeling sick, but it was not hot enough to stay of the university health services. What can be convincing to support me in order to get my schlorship back? This means alot to me since, it is a big amount of money. I did poorly in school and that is why re-taking some classes at a community college to re-learn the material. The school required a GPA of 3.0, and my GPA is at 2.8 right now. It seems so close yet not close enough. I also need a grade change because one of my professor lost my exam and she is willing to change my grade from a C to a B. I believe two of my professors can write me a written letter that I have done well in their class and tell them I am a good standing student. I dropped this class because I came to this class late in the semester and I kept going for extra help, but during spring break, I got sick again and there was no way for me to catch up. She know that I have been coming to class every time. Should I ask her, is that a legitimate documentation? Also I have email confirmation that I wrote to one of my math professors that I was sick that time and could not make it to class. You definitely don't have herpes. Stds don't survive that well outside the body. You probably got a cold from using her lip gloss which is very unsanitary. Or you couldve gotten a cold from somewhere else but its NOT an std. You should get tested regularly if you are active tho

Is spotting blood on a daily basis normal?

i am 29 years old and i have 3 kids and since my last birth my periods became abnormal and then i started missing periods but i knew i wasnt pregnant because i had my tubes tide after the birth of my last baby so i don't think thats a possibility but i do miss my periods by months at a time and for the last month i have had spotting everyday but no period or if i lift something heavy or being really active i will have a gush of blood but nothing after that....i have also had 2 urinary infections within the last 2 months...i was just wanting to get some idea of what this could be so i could know what to expect from the ob when i make the appointment...is it possible to be pregnant or could it be more serious.

Friend was bit by something on a camping trip baseball size reddish rash and bruising? Pics included Any idea?

We're in central Illinois she first noticed the bite on Saturday which looked like a mosquito bite. It was normal skin color and about the size of a peanut M & M. It was itchy. On Sunday the bump was gone and in its place was a large reddish rash with bruising. It is not painful to the touch and does not appear to have gotten bigger than on sunday although the bruising has gotten slightly more purplish in color there is no signs of puss or any type of fever. As soon as this is posted i will add a photo bucket link with pictures. We were attacked by mosquitos and chiggers that weekend and its deer tick territory out there...we also have brown recluses in that area i've nver seen a bite like that. What do you think it was? Shes trying to avoid a hospital ill if she can....what do you think?

RHEUMATOLOGY-Help to lower 9yr. old's ASO level?

My 9 yr. old has had an ASO level of 425, brought down only to 335 after 5 months straight of penicillin. Any rheumatologist out there have any suggestions? He has been screened for rheumatic fever and cleared by a cardiologist. He occasionally has pain and weakness in his knees. Visually, they are not swollen. He has also been on daily Naprosin (sp?) since his diagnosis of juvenile arthritis last November.

Cleaning a K&n filter with home products?

I have never tired it, but now I want to badly! I just looked it up, and club soda is listed as a good natural cleaner. Adding a heavy detergent to it makes sense. Plus, even though the writer just about wrote a book about the subject, why would they lie? They aren't an Oxy or genric club soda salesman. I'm saving this on my desktop and trying it the next time I clean the element on my DRZ. I have an extra one anyway. I looked around and several sites talked about using Oxyclean for filters. I can't see adding club soda hurting anything.

Swollen lympnotes, troubling swallowing with flu like symptoms :(?

3 days ago I woke up with a swollen throat, on the right side only. Both of my lymphnotrs are swollen in my neck, by my throat and are very tender to the touch. 8 hours after I woke up with these symptoms, I developed flu like symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, and dizziness (common flu sumptoms) but I didn't experience a site throat, running nose, or cough. I feel much better now, I'm still experiencing the same symptoms with my throat, but it's gotten better than before. My flu is going away as well, I have an appetite. I'd like to get answers before I go to the ER because I dont have medical, so my bill will be very expensive if I were to go, so, any advice please? Thank you.

Why is my period so light?

I've been on the pill for some time now and at the very end of my period this month I had sex. 10 days after the sex I had some light spotting and I was worried that I might be pregnant. So I stressed about it for a week and I started getting stomach pains. They weren't pains from my vagina, it would just be stomach pains. When I stopped stressing they would go away unless I ate food that really upset my stomach. Anyway last night I got my period and I was very surprised because they usually don't come until about 24 hours later. I could definitely tell it was my period, but it's so light that it isn't staining the pad I'm wearing. Whenever I wipe when I go to the bathroom I see the blood so I know I'm having my period. It's never quite this light though. Also this morning I woke up and was feeling very sick. My back hurt and my head and stomach hurt and I was getting very light-headed when I would stand for a while I also had a fever and lots of diarrhea. I'm feeling much better now but I still am having some diarrhea. I couldn't be pregnant right? Is my period light because I was stressed and then got sick? Or do you think I could actually be pregnant? Thanks for the help!

Does this sound like im having seizures to you?

Ok so last summer i was on vacation and we saw a big fireworks show. on the way to the hotel from there it was harder to breath and then i started shaking uncontroably. I could talk and i knew what was going on, but i couldn't stop shaking. it happened a lot that week and then when we got back it stopped for a few months until i watched the titanic. It all sarted again. it goes away in like about a half hour to 2 hours it really depends. after it happens i am really weak and tired. Just recently i went to a babysitting class and was there until lunch but then i got up to get my lunch and i grabbed on to my friend and told her i didnt feel good. i felt like i was and wasnt there like it almost felt like a dream. i was shaky but not uncontrlable. i went to the ER and they did blood test and gave me an iv and they didnt find anything wrong with me. then i went to dance and i felt almost like i had a fever and i got pale and felt that like dreamy feeling again but not as bad so i just left it alone and if someone asked i told them i felt feverish and thats it. i got home and i was soooo tired after that. do thhese sound like seizures to you?
