Give as many facts as you know about tides URGENT PLEASE ANSWER FAST!!!!!?
Tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the Sun & Moon. The former contributes 52% & latter 48%.Tides may be occurring one or two times a day depending upon many factors. As moon is revolves around earth, resulting tides are therefore caused by moon. There are normal, neap & spring tides, depending upon the earth's & moon position.A tide at a place starts just when moon appears on its horizon. The movement of water rising or passing along the coast is slow in the first hour, gains speed steadily in the 2nd hour & attains maximum speed in the 3rd hour & slowly wanes in 4th hour, still lesser in 5th & far lesser speed in the 6th hour in diurnal tides.Gulfs have high tidal amplitudes followed by bays.Highest tides are noted in bay of Fundy in France followed by Gulf of Kutch in India.Tides have both vertical & horizontal amplitudes, depending on day of moon & type of coastal topography.
